Why React Native — and when it isn't the right choice
React Native solves an economic problem: instead of building and maintaining two separate apps for iOS and Android, you get one codebase and one team. New features ship on both platforms at the same time, and bugs get fixed once instead of twice — which lowers development and maintenance costs across the entire life of the app.
The result is still a real app: native controls and full access to camera, GPS, push notifications and payments. Where the standard building blocks aren't enough, we develop native modules in Swift and Kotlin — and this is exactly where senior experience makes the difference between a solid architecture and a framework experiment.
When native development is the better choice
Honest trade-offs are part of our consulting: for graphics-heavy 3D applications and games, apps with extreme real-time requirements or very specific hardware integrations, fully native development is often the better choice. Why React Native instead of native iOS/Android development?
One codebase for iOS and Android means one team, one codebase and simultaneous releases — which lowers cost and complexity across the entire life of the app. Native modules keep full access to every device capability. For most business apps this is the most economical path. And where React Native isn't the best choice — graphics-heavy 3D applications, for example — we tell you openly in the first call.
What does Expo add over plain React Native?
Expo takes over the most painful parts of React Native development: reproducible builds via EAS, over-the-air updates within store rules and plannable upgrade paths for new SDK versions. Instead of sinking weeks into build infrastructure, the time goes into your product. The prerequisite is a clean architecture decision at the start — which is exactly what we're there for.
Do you take over existing React Native apps built by other teams?

Do you work with clients outside Austria?
Yes — that is our normal mode. We are based in Austria and work with clients across Europe and the Arabic-speaking region. Collaboration is remote-first: short feedback loops, demos on real devices and one responsible senior contact. Your contract is with an Austrian company under EU law — relevant whenever GDPR applies to your product.
Do you also reinforce internal teams?
